It's Chrismtas Eve!

I hope everyone is having a great Christmas Eve! I made some cookies today and they came out good to my surprise... They are sugar cookies, but instead of using vanilla extract (I couldn't find any...) I added some cocoa and butterscotch liqueurs. They really gave it a nice unique taste and with a bit of chocolate and some sprinkles they look very Christmassy too. So they will be one of the desserts for tomorrow's Christmas Dinner. Another good way to slightly change the recipe of a cookie is to use whole wheat flour. It makes them healthier and the taste is not bad at all.
Anyway I am posting a picture of the cookies I just made, before they are all gone!

It's Sunday, a nice day to hang out with the family... Later we'll go shopping for baby stuff and maybe some Christmas things as well... not much excitement going on today... Well, it's almost Christmas! I still have to do most of the shopping, as usual I have waited until the last minute. Oh well, I still have a few days. Hello! Here I am again.... I've been wasting lots of time on the computer trying to figure out how to make this Adsense thing work for me... Adsense is that Google thing where you place ads on your site so that you can get a percentage when people click on it. I think that hte key to that is to have a large amount of traffic to your site so that there are lots of clicks. Oh well, I will keep trying, but my main interest is to write so that's what I should focus on, I just want to try for some extra income while I build my writing portfolio. One good thing that can help me in that department is that my friend Krista, who runs a community magazine called 'Around Wellington' - you can visit here: http://www.aroundwellington.net, will run an article that I am writing on the February issue about Valentine's Day. I am working on it now and hopefully it will be good! Anyway on top is a picture of Emma and I in North Carolina in the snow a couple of weeks ago. My husband, John, Emma and me went to visit John's sister and her husband and had a great time!

Ok, here we go my first blog....

Hi from S Florida where we live. I am starting this blog to just talk and blab about life as we go by. I am a graphic designer and recently have started writing freelance. I have been writing for a while, but just started to try getting money for it in the last few weeks. The reason for this is because 6 and 1/2 months ago my husband and I had a baby girl and I've taken a leave of absence from work to take care of her full time. So an idea occurred to me to start writing freelance. I have a few articles already published online (see links for these on the side column here...) and I am trying to get more done as well as try and get some readers for them and this blog. I haven't figure out how everything works yet, but I am learning.... I've recently realized that you can make some income by having ads on your blog and with your article. So I've been trying that as well, so far I've made 9¢ with Google Adsense, wow! At this rate I'll be rich in about 2000 years! Oh well, I'll figure it all out. I am just starting with all this internet marketing stuff, hopefully I can get it working so I don't have to spend too much time on that and more time writing which is what I really want to do! I am hoping to get enough writing samples from all the online publishing so that I can start writing for paper publications as well. Anyway, it's late! I better get to sleep! I will post more and also put up some pictures of the husband and baby, trips etc... Good night!
