Well today is Tuesday... tomorrow, Wednesday, John's sister will be coming back from her trip to Panama (John's birthplace - the Panama Canal Zone) and she will stay with us for 3 days. That will be nice. Also late tonight my parents are coming back from their trip to Oklahoma where they visited my brother, his wife and their baby girl, Maria. Maria is a month younger than Emma so the little cousins are the same age! That great because as they get a little older hopefully they will play together.
John and I will also go to Oklahoma soon to visit, we haven't gone yet and my brother recently bought a new house, so we have to go see it.
Anyway, that's the latest for now. I have to go write a couple of articles... Must make those pennies!

Hi!

Well here is another post....As you can see by my article posts below, I have been busy trying to write articles while taking care of little Emma!
She will be 11 months old already on the 29th, WOW! Time flies, doesn't it?
Anyway... I will continue to be busy writing since I just got accepted to write at Suite101. I'll post my articles from there as soon as I start writing them!
Here is a picture of Emma from the other day as she played in her little play yard. She's standing up now and is trying to walk, so we are sure she'll accomplish that quite soon!

She's so cute! She loves to play and push buttons, specially music playing buttons or the ones on the remote control.

Still here!

Hello... It's been a few days so I thought I'd post something! I've been busy with the Life Tips site and Helium. I also just started writing at Examiner.com, so it's non stop! Emma and I have a cold... ugh. We all went on a family trip to visit John's sister in NC and we probably caught some germs somewhere along the way. I think Emma got it when she bit the table at a restaurant - it's teething time, what can I say? She got the cold first and then I started sniffling... yuck! I hope we feel better soon!

Here is Emma on our trip to N Carolina where we stopped for lunch.

Emma has also been trying to stand up. She has only crawled very little, but seems to prefer walking. She always puts her feet on the floor instead of her knees. These passed few days she has been really trying to pull herself up on the couch! I think she'll be walking soon. She'll be 10 months in a couple of days, on the 29th of March. Wow, how time flies!

Hello again!

Wew! I just realized that it's been too long since I've posted anything... I've been busy trying new sites to write in. I've also written a couple of new articles at Helium. You can check them out here.
Anyway, yesterday I was playing around with my iphone application called 'Cylon detector', which is from the show Battlestar Galactica (yes, I know, I'm a sci-fi geek!), well, this is what it came up with:

isn't it hilarious?? I'm so bummed out because there are only 3 more episodes and a movie left of BSG... it's such a great show, I can't believe they are ending it so soon. Oh, well... We will have to see if the spinoff show, Caprica will be any good. I hope so!!!
On other news, I just joined eHow.com and will write how-to articles over there. Another site that lets you post articles in is Constant Content, where you can have them bought by people who need content for their websites. You can make some 'alright' money if you sell a lot of articles. We'll see...By the time I'm down with all this, I should be an expert in how to kick start a writing freelance career from scratch! Hey, now there's an article idea...

Around Wellington

Well, the Around Wellington February issue is out and it came out very nice! Around Wellington is published and edited by my friend Krista. She does a great job and the magazine looks very good. I also posted the article on Associated Content. I will be writing a sci-fi column for Krista's magazine as well I think it will be fun!

Went buying more formula and food for Emma today... Good thing she only has about 4 more months to go on this formula, because boy is it expensive!! It costs over $6 for a 32oz can, which is enough for about a day. I can't wait until Emma can eat our food, it will be easier, cheaper and also more fun especially when we go out to eat and she won't have to just sit there in her chair or stroller while we eat...

It's cold in Florida!

Well... a little cold anyway. Although they say tomorrow will get into the upper 30's, so that's pretty cold to me! Anyway, I am posting a picture of our little Emma in a cute winter outfit she got from some nice friends. And also another of her with Lulu, our cat and one with her mommy. We're also going on another trip to North Carolina later this month to see John's sister, so we are hoping to see some snow up there! Last time was so much fun and seeing snow again was great! It's almost February!

Wow, time flies, doesn't it? Well here I am still writing a little here and a little there. All in between taking care of Emma, cleaning (a little bit, at least) and all other daily duties... My friend Krista, the one with the community magazine called Around Wellington is going to launch it as an online magazine instead of print. This makes it easier on her since she runs it pretty much on her own. Anyway, I will be contributing a column to it called 'the Space Room' where I will write about all things Sci-Fi and some Astronomy as well. I think it will be fun! When I have the first column I will link to it and you can check it out!
I will write more later, I have to go do some errands!

Well, now that I self published my novel, I thought I would write an article about it! here it is...

I published my novel! Well... sort of.

Ok, so I went to Lulu.com at my sister-in-law's suggestion... I followed the directions to upload the novel and get a cover, etc... hoping to get a price on self-publishing. Well, I went through the whole process and at the end it said: Your novel has been published! I didn't even pay anything! Now it is available online at lulu.com. I think if I want to distribute it at other retailers online (such as Amazon) that's when I have to pay a fee. So I will go and check it out and see the price and I may just do it. Why not? This way I will get my novel out there and at least I will have a published book! Many writers start out by self publishing their work, so I thought that it as worth a try. Anyway, it's reeeeeeeally late and I have to go to sleep! Go to lulu.com and look for the novel entitled 'The Junior'. Thanks!!!!

Hello and Happy New Year!

This Christmas has been great! We had family visiting and we had a blast. We started with a wonderful Christmas (the cookies were a hit! Yay!), a fun New Year, followed by our baby and my brother's baby's baptisms... and then it was off on a CRUISE!! Yes, we all went on a seven day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. It was so much fun that no one wanted to come back! This was our first time on a cruise and I have to tell you, it was a lot of fun and so worth it. I definitely recommend it. I am already looking into another one for next year. Anyway, it's back to reality and back to my writing again... I just started doing articles for Helium, so I submitted my first one to them. Hopefully it will be published soon. I have added a link to Helium on the side bar of this blog if you want to check it out... I am also posting a couple of pictures of the cruise, the first one is of John and Emma on the ship's 3rd deck, the second one is of me holding Emma over the waves of a St. Thomas beach and the third is all of us having a Birthday Dinner for my dad on a nice restaurant in the ship.
