It's almost February!

Wow, time flies, doesn't it? Well here I am still writing a little here and a little there. All in between taking care of Emma, cleaning (a little bit, at least) and all other daily duties... My friend Krista, the one with the community magazine called Around Wellington is going to launch it as an online magazine instead of print. This makes it easier on her since she runs it pretty much on her own. Anyway, I will be contributing a column to it called 'the Space Room' where I will write about all things Sci-Fi and some Astronomy as well. I think it will be fun! When I have the first column I will link to it and you can check it out!
I will write more later, I have to go do some errands!

Well, now that I self published my novel, I thought I would write an article about it! here it is...

Should You Self-Publish Your Novel?

I published my novel! Well... sort of.

Ok, so I went to Lulu.com at my sister-in-law's suggestion... I followed the directions to upload the novel and get a cover, etc... hoping to get a price on self-publishing. Well, I went through the whole process and at the end it said: Your novel has been published! I didn't even pay anything! Now it is available online at lulu.com. I think if I want to distribute it at other retailers online (such as Amazon) that's when I have to pay a fee. So I will go and check it out and see the price and I may just do it. Why not? This way I will get my novel out there and at least I will have a published book! Many writers start out by self publishing their work, so I thought that it as worth a try. Anyway, it's reeeeeeeally late and I have to go to sleep! Go to lulu.com and look for the novel entitled 'The Junior'. Thanks!!!!

Hello and Happy New Year!

This Christmas has been great! We had family visiting and we had a blast. We started with a wonderful Christmas (the cookies were a hit! Yay!), a fun New Year, followed by our baby and my brother's baby's baptisms... and then it was off on a CRUISE!! Yes, we all went on a seven day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. It was so much fun that no one wanted to come back! This was our first time on a cruise and I have to tell you, it was a lot of fun and so worth it. I definitely recommend it. I am already looking into another one for next year. Anyway, it's back to reality and back to my writing again... I just started doing articles for Helium, so I submitted my first one to them. Hopefully it will be published soon. I have added a link to Helium on the side bar of this blog if you want to check it out... I am also posting a couple of pictures of the cruise, the first one is of John and Emma on the ship's 3rd deck, the second one is of me holding Emma over the waves of a St. Thomas beach and the third is all of us having a Birthday Dinner for my dad on a nice restaurant in the ship.
